Cade opened the driver’s side door to his old, black mustang climbing out in one quick, fluid motion. “Come on Loki,” he calls with a smile, as the large, blue merle Australian Shepherd jumped from the passenger side door, and out of the opened driver side. The dog pauses, sitting on the side walk in front of his owner, waiting as he locks and closes the door. After a quick stretch, the young man pets the dog fondly on the head with his hand that isn’t in a cast, before speaking again ”Let’s see what’s going on here then shall we?” he asks, getting a cheerful bark, and stump wag from the dog.
He smiled, a rare thing for the normally serious hunter, but then Loki was special to him. Well, more than special really. The dog was his only friend really, the one thing in his life that he valued well above his own. He had first met the spunky little dog about a year ago, wondering the streets of Atlanta, Georgia. After a couple days of trying to convince him to come to him, and a lot of food, he had caught him and well, the rest as they say is history. They just sort of went together.
Cade got Loki and Loki got Cade, it worked.
He smiled at the girl who was working the front gate, thankful that she didn’t say anything about the dog accompanying him, or the fact that he was off leash. As he stepped into the crowds, he looked around with a careful eye. His eyes seeing everything, but not focusing on anything in particular. Cade was the kind of person who enjoyed being around other people, but actual socialization? No, it wasn’t really his way, so he kept to the outskirts of the crowd as he enjoyed the view.
They had done a really good job on the decorations, that Cade had to admit. It was beautiful out here tonight, peaceful. He could hear the laughter, the celebration, the general happiness of the crowd, and it was nice. For once, he wasn’t worried about what kind of supernatural creature he was going to run into. He wasn’t worried about where his next lead was going to take him in the search for his biological family. Hell, he wasn’t worried about anything. He just was and what a relief it was.
Standing off from the crowd, he let his gaze wander, and a small smile form on his usually grim face.

THE TRUTH COMES OUT IN THE BREAKDOWNS( • M E M O R I E S M Y G O D T H E S E M E M O R I E S • )Mystic Falls had done a great job decorating this place. Aura was walking throughout the 'Winter Wonderland', before work. Her hair was tucked underneath a colorful winter hat, but her face was clear. She looked around, eyeing the many people here. Her eyes landed on a male standing away from the crowd, with a dog at his side. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and after looking around for a bit longer, headed over to the man. They were a long way apart, almost across the entire plaza. The snow crunched beneath her shoes as she walked. It wasn't all that cold, to be honest, but Aura liked being prepared. Like the knife hidden in her boot, and another knife hidden up her sleeve. Sure she was being a little bit paranoid, but it was alright. A hunter can never be to prepared. About halfway to her destination, she paused. He looked like a hunter. It was something she had been able to pick up over the years, spotting another hunter. But this was only a hunch. Something in the back of her mind told her she could be wrong, and she probably was. Shut up, me. She muttered to herself before continuing. She paused again as the negative side of her took over again. He could've been a supernatural, and he wants to kill you. Whatever, just go with it.. She continued to walk towards the man. Once in hearing distance, she raised a hand and waved. Hi! Do you know where the um, she paused, trying to come up with a good enough story, Hot Chocolate place is? I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to find it!. She smiled at the man, knowing exactly where she could get Hot Chocolate. But maybe she could get a little flirting done, or a little killing done. Whichever way this went, she was fine with.

It was actually Loki who spotted the girl first, and although the dog stayed seated Cade knew something was up the moment the Shepherd started nudging at his hand. “Sup bud?” he asks as he strokes the dogs head fondly, glancing around the area quickly. His blue eyes on the alert for anything, his hand resisting the urge to go for the hand gun that was stashed in his waist band. Paranoid much? a voice in his mind asked. The answer? Yep, probably, Cade actually preferred the term weary, but hey whichever one worked for ya. Either way, by being overly careful he had managed to survive this long.
Beside him Loki let out a soft whine before laying down beside him. Cade relaxed slightly, Loki had a second sense for danger (which had made catching him a pain in the ass), something that Cade had come to trust. If the dog was relaxed, everything was ok. Nothing supernatural around...That was good, that was really good actually...
He spotted her hate first, the bright colors stood out like a sore thumb against the wintery landscape. He watched her progress against the snowy plaza, his eyes again taking in everything about her as she got closer. She was a beautiful young lady, probably in her mid twenties if he had to guess. She carried herself with confidence and grace...And something else. There was a deadly air about her, like she could kill in an instant and know it. It was the same air that most hunters had, after all self confidence was kind of a prerequisite for the job. People who didn’t think they were immortal, soon died or burnt out under the stress.
Loki sat up, thumping his stumpy tail against the frozen ground as she spoke. Cade jumped a bit as she did, surprised that she had gotten that close, that fast, and he hadn’t noticed. Lost in your own thoughts Kazakovich, a sure fire way to get yourself killed now isn’t it? What if she had been some supernatural bastard huh? It would be bye bye birdie for you now wouldn’t it? Cade ran a hand through his short blond hair, clearing his mind of the voice within.
“Oh, ah Hi,” He replied to her greeting giving her a small smile as he did, which got a snort from Loki. Cade was sure if he looked down the dog would be rolling his eyes at his lame ass owner. Or rather, would be if he could...
He listened to her question and nodded, “Yep, it’s right there, you passed it on your way over,” he says an amused grin crossing his features as he does. He had noticed the girls hesitation as she tried to figure out what she was looking for. Obviously she really hadn’t had a reason for coming over here. There was a short silence before Cade relaxed a bit and spoke again, “I’m Cade Kazakovich. ” He tells her with a sort of friendly smile. In all honesty his social skills were a little rusty. After all it wasn’t like as a hunter he got a lot of time to practise them.

THE TRUTH COMES OUT IN THE BREAKDOWNS( • M E M O R I E S M Y G O D T H E S E M E M O R I E S • )Oh Really? She smirked. It was obvious she had made it up. For being a hunter, She was a pretty bad liar. She glanced down at the dog. It was adorable, no doubt. It seemed like the dog that was loyal and kind. Truly man's best friend. Cade, She winked, Nice name. I'm Aura. He wasn't shy, but he wasn't exactly outgoing. He seemed like he hadn't had a conversation with a stranger in awhile. She smiled ,Come and get Hot Chocolate with me? She offered. Come on, Hunter. We should talk. Either the guy would look at her strangely, wondering why she'd called him a hunter, or he'd walk with her. If not, Aura was sure she could convince him. He was good looking too. He seemed like the type Aura would go for, but he was a hunter. She rarely had a thing for hunters, and if she did, she was probably drunk. She eyed him up and down, studying him, and looking for weapons on the Hunter. She didn't find any, so maybe he was unarmed. Or maybe her identification skills were just failing on her. She did only go out hunting once a week, stupid boss at the stupid grill always asked her to work an extra day. She felt the knife poking at her leg, and felt the urge to scratch it. It wasn't a pleasant feeling, but it was probably her own fault. God, she needed to get back into the game. Her instincts and skills were not getting better, they were getting worse. She should start saying no to her boss and take the two days off like she was supposed to. She looked back at Cade, hopefully nothing would go wrong. Encounters with other hunters never went well with her. She would either get them all worked up, or get into a verbal fight with them. Sometimes, she would even challenge them, and then she would lose. It was a very bad thing she did, but it was fun, until she lost.

He nods with a smirk, “ yep,” he replies with a nod, his blue eyes amused. Yep, she was a horrible liar, and he had a feeling she should never try to make things up on the spot.. He just raises an eyebrow at her remark about his name and shakes his head, “Eh, it works I suppose, ” he replies, Cade had never really thought of his name as being anything but...Well, his name. “It’s a pleasure Aura.” he remarks politely.
Cade blinked when she called him hunter, ah so she had the same feeling about him that he had had about her huh? Well, at least they were on the same page then. HE wouldn’t have to worry about saying anything he shouldn’t, and both of them would know which questions to ask, and which were better left in the thought bubble. Well, depending on how long she had been in the game for that was, some newbies were worse then those weren’t hunters.
A whine from Loki reminded him that answer was needed, and perferably soon, “Yeah, sure, sounds good.” he says with a nod, watching her closely for a moment. Since splitting off from his father almost a year ago, he had tried to stay as far away from other hunters as humanly possible. Naturally he crossed path with them from time to time, but encounters were few and far between. They were also quick, so yeah...
Loki nudged his hand, as if to remind him that he should probably follow her if he was going to have hot chocolate with her, rather then stand in the snow like the idiot he was. He watched her for another moment, noting again that she was an attractive girl (and reminding himself that it was very possible that beauty ran only skin deep), and she seemed nice enough but...She looked back at him and gave her a friendly smile before moving to catch up with her, Loki hot on his heels. The mid-sized dog placing himself between the pair of them. “Yeah, umm, sorry. My social skills are a little rusty to be honest soooo...Yeah...” he trails off with a shrug and an almost sheepish smile.
