As confused that Jessica was about what had happened to her, she had been able to pull the pieces of her life together for the most part. Her hopes fell a bit after finding out that her records from Stanford were completely gone for some reason, but she refused to just give up. She picked herself up and searched for a job, at least until she could earn enough money to finish her school and get her teaching degree. Jessica sent applications into places, even if she wasn’t completely qualified for the position. And it was a good thing she did, since that was how she got her job as the children’s librarian at the local library.
Jessica absolutely adored her job at the library, but just as with every other job that anyone had, she was thankful when she had a day off. She loved the children she worked with at the library, but there were certainly some days were even her patience wasn’t enough to deal with the little ones. Those days where every single child decided to be cranky and absolutely shriek and scream during story time. Yes, those were the kinds of days she’d been having this past week.
It was a pleasant day with in the park with a crisp breeze blowing through the trees that were slowly turning to rainbows of yellow, orange and purple. Jessica had always admired how well kept the grounds at the park were. The gardeners were so knowledgeable in their craft that there were always flowers blooming, no matter the season. With a sigh, Jessica rested down on a bench that was surrounded by freshly bloomed pansies and mums.

[/img] Jessica carefully analyzed the flora that was surrounded the bench. She had always been a bit jealous of the people that could decorate their grounds with such beauty. Jessica had never really had a green thumb, after all. All of the plants she had ever tried to nurture always ended up dying not long after they were planted. She knew that she was probably doing something horribly wrong, but she just couldn’t figure out what it was. In the meantime, though, she would just have to become accustomed to having fake plants around her. Or at least the plants that didn’t need much care. Like cacti. She began rifling around in her purse to find a small book that she took around everywhere with her. It was a small text that had some of Shakespeare’s sonnets in it – it was a handy little thing. However, before she was able to find the small book, she felt something hit her feet. Jessica looked up from her search and saw that someone had accidentally kicked her feet since they were extending a bit out into the pathway she was sitting next to. She quickly pulled her feet out of the pathway and sat up straight. “ Oh, that’s alright. Sorry, my feet were in the way,” she said, looking up at the girl and she slowly realized that she knew her. She quickly searched her brain for a name that belonged to the girl. “ Elena? It’s Elena, right?” she asked, biting her lip, hoping that she had said the correct name. She couldn’t completely place where she had met the girl, but she assumed it was somewhere like the library.[/blockquote]

Elena was generally one of the most self aware people she knew. She had become paranoid but how could she not? She always had the feeling that someone was watching her every move. After everything she had been through with Klaus it was almost as though his hybrids were following her around to ensure no harm came to her. It was probably true and they probably were keeping an eye on her. Luckily she had Damon for her protection because when it came to her, she knew that he would kill anyone who tried to hurt her. His love for her always made her smile, he really had changed and he was such a good guy. She had seen the good in him from the start and now it was so prominent that she loved him for it. Even thought the brothers were different somehow Damon had pulled through for her.
The walk in the park had definitely been a good idea. She had needed to just get out and let her mind wander. She had figured she would put her ear phones in but instead she wanted to listen to how normal everyone else's life was. Although she would no longer want to change hers it didn't mean she didn't wish sometimes she could go back to worrying about boys and homework. No instead she had bigger things to deal with. She felt instantly bad however when she tripped over someone and not to mention the fact thats he knew the girls face but couldn't remember her name. "Oh please it was my bad I should have been looking where I was walking" She added her smile on the end and picked up her phone from the floor where she had dropped it. Looking at the girl agains he tried to put a name to the face. This wasn't their first meeting which wasn't all that surprising as Mystic Falls was a small town and as she had lived here all her life she really knew most people here. She waited but then the girl guessed her name correctly. Just at that second Elena remember her name. "Yeah, your Jessica. Sorry my brains a little slow this afternoon. Do you mind if I sit with you? We haven't spoken in some time?" She asked in her polite manner. She couldn't forget how she was brought up. She smiled at the girl. She was exceptionally pretty and had always fascinated Elena. She didn't remember the last time the two of them had met but she knew she had liked her from the start. That was something that hadn't changed at least. [/blockquote] (WORDS)439(TAGGED) Jessica/Open (OUTFIT) Here (NOTES) Yay! (CREDITS) THIS IS BY DYLAN of CAUTION 2.0

[/img] Jessica laughed lightly at the way that Elena automatically replied with another apology. “ Why don’t we just agree that we were both a little in the wrong, hmm?” she asked with a broad smile. They were both being, perhaps, a little too polite than was needed. Ah, well. Better to be too polite than not polite enough, anyway. “ Don’t worry about it,” she said with a shrug of her shoulders,” No harm, no foul.” She moved her purse onto her lap, finally giving up on her search for her small text, figuring that a nice conversation with an actual person might be a bit more interesting that reading at this point in time. “ Oh! Of course not,” said Jessica, pulling her purse further into her lap and scooting over on the bench to give Elena room to sit down. “ Don’t worry about it,” she said with a wave of her hand. At least Elena had recognized her; that’s what was important, after all. “ Yeah, I think you’re right. This is actually kind of embarrassing, but um…I don’t really remember where we met,” she said, biting her lip, hoping that she hadn’t offended the other girl. She grabbed a hold of her long, blonde curls and pulled them to the other side of her face, so that they wouldn’t impede her from being able to see Elena completely. “ Well, what have you been up to since we last saw each other? You’re – you’re still in school, right?” she asked, hoping that she hadn’t outrageously misinterpreted Elena’s age. [/blockquote]

Elena looked Jess over and wanted to smile. This girl was friendly enough and reminded her of what the good in people could do. This town needed more normal good human people. People who wouldn't be getting caught in the cross fire of this supernatural war that seemed to always be happening. Not to mention Elena always being in trouble. No she would always keep people like Jessica safe so that they could live a normal life without having to worry about being killed. She sighed when she thought about all the people they had all lost during this supernatural war. She didn't want to think about that though, instead she focused upon the here and now and that included sitting in the park and talking to someone she hadn't spoken to for awhile.
Elena nodded in agreement to Jess's statement. If there was no one hurt then it wasn't a big deal. It was just Elena's up bringing that had kept her apologizing, she had been brought up right, no thanks to her real birth parents that was. When Jess moved her purse so they could sit together Elena gave her a friendly smile and sat on the bench next to her. This was something at least. "Yeah well apparently homework mushes ones brain" She added with a slight shrug. When Jess said she didn't remember where they had met before Elena smiled. She did. "Actually if I remember correctly I met you when I was on my Uni trips. You were there, we bumped into each other much like today actually" She smiled and giggled a little at the thought of how ironic it was with how they kept meeting. Elena smiled when Jess asked about what she had been up to and if she was still in school. She figured that was somewhat of a compliment considering it was her last year. People always said that she could look younger than she actually was. She shrugged it off most of the time though. She smiled and nodded. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Yeah i'm still in school. Nothing much though just the usual. Homework, friends and my new boyfriend, although I think everyone saw us happening before I did" She added with a casual shrug. She loved that she was with Damon now, they were meant to be together. That was the way she felt anyway. She knew that she had made the right choice and her friendship with Stefan was still there. Jessica hadn’t known Elena for a very long time, but she couldn’t help but feel a bit protective over her. Elena was quite a bit younger than Jessica and – well – she couldn’t deny that she had always wanted a younger sister, or really any sibling for that matter. She often found herself feeling jealous of those that had siblings, while she was just an only child. Also, judging by appearance at least, Elena seemed to be around the same age that Jessica was when she died. Call her paranoid, but she didn’t want to see that same thing happen to Elena.
“Homework, huh? What are you studying now?” she asked with a grin on her face. Just like all students while they were in college, Jessica also hated the dreaded responsibility of doing homework, unless it was part of a subject that she was particularly interested in. Even she would enjoy writing a research paper if it was on something that she really cared about.
Jessica paused and stared at Elena for a moment, trying to recall where they had met. “Oh, right, right!” she said, as the memory slowly but surely started to come back to her. “Did you enjoy the rest of your trip?” she asked, cocking her head to the side.
Jessica couldn’t help but smile when Elena mentioned the conditions of her and her new boyfriend. “It’s always interesting when things happen that way. How did you two meet?” Her romantic side couldn't help but be a little curious.
