It hadn't taken long for word to reach Balthazar's ears: Castiel was back. He had been sprung from Purgatory by Michael. No angels knew why he had been brought back but the 'why' wasn't all that important to Balthazar. All that mattered was that the angel who had killed him was back. He had been doing all that he could to stay away from all angels but Castiel was the one angel that he absolutely had to stay away from.
If he ran into his former friend again, then chances were great that Balthazar might not be in the mood for talking and would let Castiel know exactly what it felt like to be stabbed in the back. But Balthazar, as heartless as he could be sometimes, didn't want to kill Cas. He may never be able to forgive his brother but that didn't mean he thought Cas deserved to die for what he had done. Cas hadn't been himself ever since he became determined to do whatever it took to win the civil war against Raphael, even if it meant allying himself with the King of Hell.
So Balthazar was going to continue remaining on the run, from all of his brethren, especially Castiel. And that was why he found himself in Las Vegas tonight. It was Sin City. It was one of the few places in the world that he had never run into any other angel and that's exactly what he needed and wanted right now. He had arrived a few hours ago and had spent every second of those hours moving around from casino to casino and club to club, having a few drinks everywhere he went. In another ten hours, if he kept up this pace, he might start to feel a little something from all of that alcohol.
As he was walking between two clubs, however, all thoughts of booze drifted out of his mind. He was no longer the only angelic presence in the city. One of his brothers had decided to join him. But which one? Who would dare come to Sin City? Most were still loyal, obedient soldiers who wouldn't dare step foot into a place filled with the most sinful of human beings. Balthazar thought about making a hasty retreat but what would be the point? Whomever was here with him might not even bother coming to speak to him, but he couldn't get rid of the nagging at the back of his mind that he wasn't going to escape so easily.

It was one matter to attend to after the next for Castiel since he had been brought back out of purgatory by his fellow archangel. Michael wasn’t too fond of Castiel for many reasons and Cas took it for what it was. Castiel had betrayed many of his fellow angel allies just to have the upper hand with Raphael. Michael could not wait to get him onto earth and leave his presence, as if the very sight of him made him sick. Castiel would now have to face the music with everyone that he had wronged and now that he was back to being his sane self, that added more enemies who wanted his head. Crowley, most of the angels, his old enemies and even his old friends. Once discovering that the Leviathans had resurrected numerous dead, he started to prepare himself for more trouble. There was now someone Castiel had killed, but now was back. This someone was Balthazar, a fellow angel he was once close to before he killed for his own selfish gain.
Sighing, Castiel closed his eyes for a moment and searched where Balthazar was. Many angels had been brought back to earth as well and their presence could be felt. Las Vegas, of course that was where Balthazar would be once being brought back to life. Other angels would be trying to find answers, but Balthazar was the one to indulge in the same things that humans did. Castiel instantaneously ended up in Las Vegas, feeling the presence of another angel very strong as Balthazar wandered through clubs, drinking endlessly and even losing his inhibitions. Castiel could feel fear on him, even though he was living like a human with no care in the world. No other angels but those two were present in Sin City. Castiel didn’t mind it much. Of course certain sights and actions would be bothersome, but since he was considered a rogue angel, he had a mind of his own as of late. Cas was now on his own and still had to talk to Sam and Dean about the plans of the Leviathans, but they still had a while until they caught on about a few issues, so he might as well make things right with Balthazar, if possible..
There would be no way that Balthazar would forgive Castiel instantly...that just wouldn’t seem in his nature. But Cas had backstabbed his good companion and now he was regretting it fully. Not just because the situation didn’t turn out his way, but after everything, he realized he could never play or be God. Castiel then appeared in front of the slightly intoxicated Balthazar with his head lowered. A part of him was in whoa to see his friend again, he wished he could greet him like a friend, but Cas was considered no friend to an angel he murdered for selfish reasons. Castiel’s ocean blue eyes glazed over his friend as he stood there with a sympathetic look on his face and then lifted his head slowly and mumbled, ”Balthazar, you’re alive again once more I see.” Castiel kept his distance between the two, not sure if his animosities would be so great that he’d come running with the dagger to show it through his heart in repayment. But a part of Castiel knew that Bal was just more hurt than anything.

As luck would have it, the one angel that he wanted to see the least was the very one that appeared in front of him. It appeared, then, that Castiel had received word of Balthazar's resurrection. There weren't that many secrets among angels, although Balthazar wished that he could have somehow kept his return a secret or he wished that the other angels knew that he wanted to keep it a secret and, therefore, were kind enough to just leave him alone. He didn't want to get involved in any of their squabbles ever again. He was never going to return to Heaven so why should he care what went on up there?
Castiel was keeping a safe distance away from him, a smart, but also somewhat insulting, move on his brother's part. Balthazar wasn't the kind of angel to go stabbing around, unless he was given a good reason to. A defenseless Castiel, standing several feet away from him, wasn't a good reason to whip out his angel blade and kill his former friend, even if that former friend had once done that very thing to him. Besides, the chances were good that Castiel would simply be resurrected because that angel was always coming back from the dead.
A look of sympathy from the being that had killed him. That was a new one. Balthazar barely contained himself from rolling his eyes at the absurdity of it. Instead, he said, "Oh, don't give me those puppy dog eyes, Castiel." He wasn't about to start feeling bad for his brother because of all of the weight he was carrying on his shoulders, thanks to that little bout of insanity (if that's what it could be called) that he had gone through. He had had a decision to make: choose to go poking around Purgatory with Crowley or not. He had chosen and ruined so many lives in the process. That was all on Cas. Balthazar couldn't pity him for that.
He was rather glad with the words that Castiel had chosen to utter. A profound apology would have felt fake to him and would have hardly been enough to make up for all that Castiel had done. "Yes, I'm alive again once more because someone or something--" Balthazar still didn't care who or what had decided to bring him back or why they/it had done so. "--thought I was worth bringing back after you, you know, stabbed me in the back...quite literally, I might add." That was the worst way to die and those words brought back a flood of memories from those few seconds, the hot white pain as Castiel's knife slid through his vessel. Balthazar found himself unconsciously backing up, until his back was almost up against the nearest building. There would be no getting behind him this time, although he was almost certain that Castiel hadn't come here to kill him again.

As Castiel appeared in front of his former friend, Balthazar looked slightly shocked, excited and saddened to see him. So many emotions were radiating off of him that Cas was not able to pick out exactly what he was feeling with seeing Castiel right in front of him in an instant, after everything the duo had been through. The sympathetic look Castiel wore without even trying had an effect on Balthazar as he could feel the sorrow that he hid by rolling his eyes and told him to not give him those puppy eyes. Castiel’s head tilted to the side and lightly mumbled with a bewildered look, ”Puppy eyes? I didn’t realize I appear to be a canine to you, perhaps a swine woudl be in order...” Cas was truly oblivious compared to some of the other angels on earth. But his swine comment was referring to how he was filth after his betrayal. By now, some thought he’d at least comprehend some of the modern day sarcasm after spending a lot of time with Dean, but in most ways, he was still a bit clueless.
His first words as a question were answered simply by a yes. But Balthazar did not know why he had been brought back, Castiel knew. Though before he could open his mouth to say it, his friend continued to say that he felt he was worth bringing back after Castiel had literally stabbed him in the back. Castiel deeply scoffed and rolled his eyes a little bit. ”Thank you, I am quite aware of my past actions....If one more person reminds me...- He trailed off. It was truly annoying him by now with everyone loving to mention how he messed everything up as he tried to played God and betrayed even his close friends to own a few extra souls from purgatory. Lowering his head, he quickly calmed his temper. ”I am ashamed of what I have done...and how I killed you and I feel there is no need in apologizing because it would not even begin to explain my sorrows..and because I have a feeling that would wouldn’t even accept an apology just yet.” He spoke softly with his deep husky voice as usual, but with a hint of sadness and regret lingering within.
Suddenly, Balthazar appeared to be lost in his thoughts as he started to back up, Castiel even looked behind him to see if their was an enemy or some creature of the sort behind him that he was trying to retreat from. Bal’s back was up against the nearest building’s outside wall. Castiel sighed and then asked, ”Anyways, since apologies aren’t fit for the time being....I might as well tell you that you were brought back by the Leviathans.” Cas wandered closer to his friend. ”They have done a massive resurrection spell and are very upset of what they did to their leader and used a powerful witch to bring back the dead to give them some time to figure out who it is who’s blood can open the gates of hell.” Cas said, thinking Balthazar knew exactly what was going on. ”But I wanted to find you to explain that...to see you and to ask for help. Though, I doubt you can trust me until another century or two.” Angels could hold grudges and Balthazar was more worldly than the other angels.

It was quite natural that Balthazar should feel a wide range of emotions at seeing Castiel again. He was shocked because he hadn't expected Castiel to come looking for him, at least not so soon. Balthazar wasn't like most angels but that didn't mean he handled betrayal differently than most of them would. Stab first and ask questions later was the natural reaction, and it was taking him quite a bit of his willpower to not physically damage Castiel in any way. Balthazar was excited because a part of him was always going to love Cas, no matter what he died to him, because they were brothers and were akin to each other a lot more than any of the other angels. But Balthazar was also saddened to see him because he knew that that love and bond they once shared would never be the same again, no matter how much he wanted to be able to forgive Cas for all that he had done.
He wanted to be able to tell Cas that he wasn't a swine but that would be a lie. His brother certainly had gotten his hands very dirty in the purgatory business. It would take a long time for him to clean them, if he ever was able to clean them at all. Winning the war against Raphael had gotten to his brother's head just a little bit too much. The odds had been in their favor ever since Balthazar had given his stolen weapons to Cas but that apparently hadn't been enough. It was understandable that Cas wanted even more surety of a victory but Balthazar still couldn't think that that excused Cas from his actions, so he let the swine comment go with an, "I couldn't agree more."
Balthazar wasn't surprised to hear that Cas was getting picked on by more beings than just him. If that comment was supposed to make him feel sorry for Cas, then it wasn't working. Hearing about it from everyone was no more than the angel deserved. Maybe if he heard it enough times, then he wouldn't commit the same mistakes ever again. What Castiel said next was genuine enough but even that genuineness couldn't stop Balthazar from hanging on to those last two words. "Just yet? Bloody hell, Cas! I'm never going to accept an apology from you because it'll take a lot more than 'I'm sorry'--two paltry words--for me to ever forgive you."
So much for putting his back up against a wall as Castiel decided to walk in closer to him. Balthazar had to actively keep on reminding himself that, if Cas wanted him dead again, then his brother would have killed him already and not wasted all of this time speaking to him. And so much for not caring who had brought him back and why as Cas spilled the beans to him. He hadn't wanted to know that but it's not like he could un-hear all that had just been said. "And here I thought I had been brought back because someone out there actually missed me." Oh well. It's not like he could choose who he wanted to resurrect him.
He wasn't surprised when Cas cut straight to the chase. The last time he had helped Cas, Balthazar had ended up with a knife in his back. He didn't need to think twice about it before shaking his head in the negative. "I don't think so, Cas. I'm done with the angels. I could care less about the Leviathans. I just want to live a sinful and free life on Earth while I still can." Balthazar was done with letting his conscious get the best of him. He used to always coming running back to help after refusing to do so at first. Not this time, though. This time when he said no he meant no.

Castiel probably would not have gone searching for Balthazar, but it was not as if trying to make amends with him was first on his list. Castiel had a range of situations he needed to attend to and matters to discuss with a wide array of people, but since Balthazar was actually back from the dead, he thought that would pay a visit to one of the angels that he actually had considered a friend and vice versa. Now that Castiel only had Dean and Sam Winchester as his allies, he needed to gain a few more allies with the fight against the Leviathans headed their way in due time. Though that was not the reason that he wanted to make things better between the two, it was simply because they used to be close friends and it all changed when Castiel became selfish. Cas truly was ashamed of his actions and especially to a fellow angel his considered himself close to, much like a brother, for their relationship was special and different when comparing to the other angels. Cas could only wish that their friendship would go back to being where it started, but a part of him knew that was never going to happen.
As Castiel noted that perhaps he appeared to look more like a swine, Balthazar did not deny his words. Instead, he told him that he couldn’t agree more and this made Cas lower his head in sadness and regret towards his kin. There was nothing that he could really do to make things better besides just leaving things be but even time wouldn’t be able to erase the past. Being called a swine, an unclean and disgusting creature matched to how Castiel felt and basically what he deserved to be called. In fact, he deserved to be called so much worse. Some of the words he spoke was his attempt to get Balthazar to feel sorry for him or at least feel some minor sympathy and understanding. Saying that Balthazar may not be able to forgive him just yet, the other angel started to grow slightly outraged that Castiel could possibly think that two words could make things right. Cas nodded. ”I understand that. But it would help, or at least it’s the starting point. I want to make it up to you because I know how much I failed in believing the way I did and that I had no right to take advantage of our friendship to get what I wanted.” To be honest, Castiel never really had to deal with guilt or trying to gains one’s friendship back again.
Castiel then explained everything of why Balthazar was brought back in the first place, knowing that he would much like to know why or how he was brought back even though he acted like it wasn’t so. Though, if one had a second chance, why question it. It made Cas think of himself and how many times he was brought back to earth no matter what had happened to him. Raising his head once again, he kept quiet for a moment as Balthazar sarcastically noted that he thought he was brought back because he was actually missed. ”Well, if it helps, I missed you. I missed your friendship and company...” He was not just saying that to flatter him, he actually meant those words. Once Cas cut to one of the important reasons as to why he was there before him to explain the Leviathans and their plan to them and asking for his help, Balthazar denied the offer. Castiel knew that he would not accept the offer, but in due time, Balth knew that they were fighting on the same team. ”I have been done with the angels too. I no longer am doing what God wants...you know I am considered a rogue angel. I do what I want now, but I know that we can both agree that we don’t want Lucifer and his demons running the earth...then how will you indulge in the sinful activities that the humans provide if Satan kills you himself once again?” It was a fact that he could not deny, that no one, even the vilest of creatures wanted Satan as the ruler of earth.

As far as Balthazar was concerned, those two paltry words were were very far from any kind of starting point towards him forgiving his brother. The truth be told, Balthazar didn't know what it was going to take to get him started down that path of forgiveness. He didn't care how much like his older self Cas had become again because it might only be a matter of time before Cas lost it again and did something even crazier (not that Balthazar could think of anything crazier than the things Cas had already ended up doing).
"So, what you're saying is that you learned from your past mistakes and that you won't repeat them ever again, am I right?" That certainly seemed to be the gist that Cas was aiming for, although he hadn't said it in so many words. "That excuse only works when you accidentally leave the door open and the dog escapes or when you get caught having an affair, not when you open up Purgatory, taking millions of souls that should have been left alone into you because you're desperate to win your war against dear, old Raphael." Balthazar couldn't blame Cas for wanting to win the civil war because Raphael had planned on starting up the apocalypse again but guess what? The Leviathans were now threatening on getting that apocalypse going again so nothing had been solved or completely averted yet.
Balthazar's eyes softened almost imperceptibly as Cas mentioned that he had missed him. Another sarcastic comment, along the lines of 'You should've thought about that before you killed me,' wanted to escape his mouth but Balthazar held it back. Castiel was trying his hardest to get his old friend to forgive him and, while considered heartless by most, Balthazar knew that reminding Cas over and over again of his foolish actions in the past was going to do nothing for anybody because the angel that Balthazar saw standing in front of him looked like he couldn't feel any more guilty than he already felt. Balthazar couldn't let that one terrible day outweigh all of the good days they had had together, if he ever hoped to forgive his old friend.
Castiel was using logic that made perfect sense. The only good thing Balthazar could say about Lucifer was that Lucifer's release on Earth had given the angel the perfect opportunity to fake his own death and get out of Heaven. Other than that, while Balthazar wasn't a big fan of hairless apes, Lucifer could remain stuck in that cage of his for all eternity. Balthazar didn't like humans but it didn't mean that he wanted to see them and their world destroyed by an archangel. Lucifer had some strange notion of creating a paradise for angels on Earth. No one could be sure who those angels would be, though. Balthazar liked to think that Lucifer wouldn't waste his time killing an angel like him--one who hadn't participated in any way whatsoever at trying to get rid of him a few years ago--but it certainly was still in his best interest to make sure the Devil never got another chance on Earth.
But, despite all of that, Balthazar still found himself saying, "I'd rather die by Luci's hands later than by the Leviathans' hands now. Call me a coward. Call me selfish. Call me whatever you want to, Cas. Just don't call on me to help you out. This is your mess. You clean it up." Balthazar had once told the Winchester brothers that he wasn't their manservant. That sentiment was just as applicable towards any angel who tried to drag them into their problems. Maybe it could be argued that Lucifer was everyone's problem but Balthazar wasn't in a very charitable mood right now.

Balthazar had tried to pinpoint Castiel’s word down to their true intent and trying to understand what he had meant by trying to apologize to him. Cas nodded in agreement that yes, he had learned from his past mistakes and would not repeat them again. He was never good at explaining apologies, since he did not really have to do it all that often, if ever. It looked like Balthazar was starting to understand his intentions and eagerness and a hint of happiness started in his gaze but then was quickly wiped away when he told him that the excuse only works when it was an accident, not when he opens purgatory and takes millions of souls that should have been left alone. Castiel’s head lowered in utter defeat and sadness. He wished he could take it all back because it wasn’t worth it. But everyone needed to stop blaming him and deal with the problems that they had now. His voice then raised in light outrage, ”We all make mistakes Balthazar! No one is perfect! I thought I could be, that’s what I got for becoming rogue and straying from orders to do my own will, but I have also done some good in this world if you can possibly remember.”
Becoming a rogue angel was a decision that he only slightly regretted, mainly because of the fact that he had caused many problems and even the current threat of the Leviathans opening up hell to get Lucifer released and raise all hell on earth. ”We can only move on from the past and deal with what we have before us. Stop shoving it in my face! I’m sorry! Alright?!” Castiel did not feel too relieved after apologizing liked he hoped it would, but it was a small start towards a beginning of potential forgiveness. By saying those two words, he hoped that Balthazar would lay off on blaming him for everything, despite even though a lo of the bad things were his fault lately. But did he really want to drive him into a deep guilty state or did he want him to fix his mistakes? Castiel calmed down and said he missed Balthazar and his eyes softened almost instantly. His words were divine and true, he was not trying to be a kiss-ass to gain his forgiveness. That was not like Castiel to lie about his words or feelings.
The point Cas made that the two were fighting on the same side was undeniable, even by Balthazar. But such a point was not enough to persuade an angel like Balthazar, since he tried to remain the least involved in all of the issues that the angels had to deal with. Cas thought his words of how Lucifer would kill Balthazar once he conquers the earth would help change his mind as well, but he said that he would rather die by the hands of Lucifer any day before the Leviathans now. Castiel looked down to his feet and sighed and turned around and lifted his head up to the sky as Balthazar declared himself a coward and told Cas not to call on him for help. Cas kept his gaze fixed in the sky as he spoke back to him. ”Yes, this is my mess and I am responsible for fixing it and I accept that...but I am asking you as a friend and since we both do not desire Lucifer to end the world as we know it...” He stopped and turned around, ”But I guess not...” His eyes grew a little darker now. ”It must be hard knowing that you have no allies on this earth, as you try to keep out of everything and avoid everyone. You really are a coward. You just want to self-indulge and ignore everyone for no purpose at all except achieving an orgasm and getting intoxicated....That appears to be a much more selfish measure than my actions and how I tried to end a civil war between the angels and Raphael.”
Castiel did just hand his ass to him, but it was the truth and that was one thing that always peeved him about Balthazar. No doubt he was his good friend, but he declared to stay uninvolved in every issue, or at least most of them and so it only looked like he was taking advantage of his angelic abilities for his own selfish physical pleasure.

Balthazar wasn't the poster boy for the perfect obedient angel soldier but his trip into being a rogue angel had never led him anywhere near to the notion that he was perfect and could do whatever the hell he wanted to because of that fact. Castiel could make all of the excuses in the world that he wanted to; it would never change the fact that he had lost his mind and caused a lot destruction in the process. He had caused so much destruction that Balthazar found himself scoffing at Cas' comment about having done some good in the world. "You helped Dean and Sam avert the Apocalypse. You killed Raphael and his followers. You healed a few hairless apes. Does that make up for all of the people that you killed or for the fact that those Leviathans you helped bring into this world are now working on releasing our older brother again?"
It wasn't Balthazar's intention to be a hard-ass right now. Castiel had gone through a lot more than Balthazar could ever imagine and had to be suffering from a large weight of guilt, but he wanted his old friend to understand that there was no use trying to make excuses for his actions, that he really needed to completely own up to what he had done. Apparently, Balthazar wasn't getting through to him, though, as Castiel told him to move on from the past and uttered those two words that Balthazar hadn't wanted to hear from his mouth. "All I have before me is the angel who killed me and the Leviathans who may find a way any day now to release Lucifer again, and you can bet he'll win this time around because he won't make the same mistakes twice." His tone was a lot softer than Castiel's because he was trying to be reasonable, not argumentative.
He had told Castiel to call him whatever he wanted to but it still hurt to hear his old friend call him a coward. Yes, he was famous for running away, for remaining as uninvolved as possible, but Balthazar always ended up coming back; he always ended up helping out, even if they were never his messes or his problems to mop up. He wished he could truly stay out of everything all of the time but somewhere deep down inside he knew that that would never be possible. He liked this planet too much to want to see it destroyed by anyone.
"Yes, I like getting drunk and, yes, I love having sex with every beautiful woman I can lay my hands on, and maybe I am a coward. But don't you dare ever forget that I gave you the weapons I stole from Heaven without asking for anything in return from you. They would have been more than enough for you to win your war against Raphael, but you selfishly decided that you wanted more--more power to make your victory all that more of a surety." Balthazar had his moments of selfishness but the same could also be said of Castiel.
Balthazar let out a sigh. They were getting nowhere. They could stand here all night longer (and probably even longer than that) calling each other names and bringing up all of the things they were doing or had done wrong. And, while they stood here bickering with each other, the Leviathans were out there busily working on freeing the Devil. "Promise me, Cas...Promise me that during this new war of yours you won't do anything nearly as foolish as opening a door to Purgatory to collect all of the souls, and only then will I consider helping you out." Compromise. It wasn't a word that Balthazar was too fond of but he was willing to give it a go in this situation. He knew that Cas and him could never go back to the way things had once been between the two of them, but the least he could do was to start mending fences with Cas by telling him he would think about helping out, instead of sticking with the outright refusal he had just given him earlier.

Castiel had attempted to make the comment about doing something positive on the earth only to have it thrown back in his face and taken as a mere joke by Balthazar. Had Castiel’s actions that led him to being a rogue angel been pointless, that his entire existence on the earth and aiding the Winchester’s against everything in the past was just meaningless? His brother before him made it feel as so and this damped Castiel’s spirits in thinking that he had done at least a few helpful things during his stay on earth. If being a holy angel was so great, then why had Balthazar chosen to go rogue? Or did Balthazar also know that he too was taking up space with his sinful vessel and indulging in things that were only temporary? If he was going to judge Castiel on doing good on the earth, then he needed to look at himself. Cas didn’t judge him on being the perfect soldier of God, because Castiel was far from that title by far as well after everything he had done since his arrival to earth when dealing and affiliating with the Winchesters. When Balthazar made stopping the apocalypse from occurring like it was such an easy task, his eyes narrowed and he couldn’t believe what he was hearing but when he asked if it made up for all of the lives of the people he killed or the number of Leviathans he helped bring into the world that are trying to release Lucifer?
Cas sighed lightly, he got rid of the confused and appalled look on his face and kept silent while gritting his teeth. Balthazar had never come this hard on his before, but maybe it was what he needed or maybe Balthazar just felt like being an ass to Castiel to help alleviate his own pain and misery by the thought of being executed. ”I’ve made mistakes, but I am determined to end it and clean up the mess that has been brought forth.” Castiel would stop the Leviathans and their plan as much as he could, even if it meant sacrificing his own life. Cas would vow not to betray or hurt anyone that was close to him again, but that felt much worse that letting the Leviathans onto the earth to cause havoc. Apologizing in a semi-angered state, Castiel listened to his friend’s next words had been calm and on a quieter level and with that Castiel calmed himself down as well. Calling Balthazar a coward wasn’t the best decision, but maybe it was the truth. He knew such words would hurt Balthazar, but if he had already admitted to being a coward, didn’t that mean that he accepted it for all its entirety? Balthazar was always one to run away and keep out of things, yet in the end he ended up being involved.
Balthazar agreed that he loved to drink and sleep around with women but he shouldn’t dare to forget that he gave Castiel the weapons he stole without asking for anything back in return from him. The weapons that Balthazar had to offer could have defeated Raphael but he wanted to take all of the power, to make his victory even more that it should be. ”I know what I have done. What angel has not craved to be powerful, even more than God, before? Power is desired by everyone and I unfortunately fell into that trap. Now that I have learned that it was pointless and did more harm than good, I am not going to do that again. I will not betray my friends, because to see the look on your face harms me more than know that the Leviathans are still on earth and wanting to cause extreme harm to the world...And I thank you for helping me when you did and not asking for anything in return, it was a selfless act.” Castiel softened a bit, there was no need to get loud or continue to toss insults back and forth at one another. All it was doing was expressing that they were upset and hurt, but how much could one complain until it just became unnecessary and empty words?
Balthazar let out a sigh and ended with telling him to promise that he would not do anything near as foolish as opening a door to Purgatory. Castiel nodded and his face softened in its features, for Balthazar was trying to confide in him again and give him a chance. ”I promise you that will not happen again.” Since Balthazar was not quite ready to trust Castiel entirely though, shown by his action of hiding his back against a wall, he decided that maybe it was time to leave and give Balthazar some time to think about everything. Looking at Balthazar, he lightly began to smile, but to most it would just look like the beginning of a smile. Castiel wasn’t much good at showing his emotions, but he wanted to show Balthazar that he really did appreciate his help in the past and maybe even his participation in the future. ”Goodbye Brother, I will see you again soon.” With those words, Castiel vanished into thin air and went off to Sam and Dean, to tell them about his encounter.
