It wasn’t a full moon. It actually wasn’t even close to a full moon, but Alex was running through the forest anyway, in his human form, obviously, since it most certainly was not a full moon. He leaped over dean, fallen trees and clumps of leaves that were gathered on the forest floor as he raced in between the trees. Every so often, he would risk a glance behind him, but for the most part, he kept running.
Yes, Alexander Garrett was a werewolf, but he did what he could to take the proper precautions so that he would not harm anyone in his wolf form. To be specific, he made sure that he was locked and chained in a cage the night of the full moon. He was usually a very kind and gentle person, unless his loved ones were in danger, then he sprung into action without a second thought.
However, the being that he was running from was a regular human, from what he could tell. The only difference was that they were a hunter. And to hunters, a monster was a monster and the safety of regular humans came first. Alex had been tracked down by a hunter in the area and the first thing that came to his mind was just to run – to run as far away and as quickly as he could possibly handle.
Even werewolves ran out of breath eventually, though, so he paused and leaned against the trunk of a tree as he panted and put his hand to his chest.

There was only one spot in Mystic Falls were she could find Wolfsbane and Vervain together. The herbs were just so very hard to come by. Of course she could have found a supplier or another witch to get her the ingredients that she needed for her latest patch of spells but there was something about collecting what she needed. Nature seemed to call to her. As a witch, she was tied to nature. Hat was why she didn’t even need a map to take her where she was going. Igraine could literally feel the spirits telling her where to go. Her bag contained a few large handfuls of each herb. It would be enough for her to collect a few seeds and try to cultivate it herself.
The night was crisp and cool as her arms wrapped around her a little more tightly. It was peaceful out though an eerie stillness seemed to hover in the air. The only sound was the soft crunching of the forest litter on the ground and the gentle sound of her breath. Pausing from her gentle stride, her lips tightened. It was almost as if she was being warned. Something was very wrong. Something pulling her in the opposite direction that she was walking. Home was this way. She needed to get some sleep before she had to get on the last shift at the club. There was still two hundred dollars that she needed to make this month’s payment to the loan shark. One more night of shaking her ass and having to deal with grabby handed males and she could relax for another month.
Sighing, she pushed the warnings away from her mind and continued to walk through the dark woods. A figure moved past her quickly. The form was a man, and seemed to be running from someone. He must have not seen her as he barreled on, pausing near a tree. He seemed out of breath, panting and clutching his chest. Dammit, this was what the spirits were trying to warn her about. To stay away from the situation. Of course she was never one to fully follow the rules. Hiding carefully behind a tree herself, she waited for the other man to catch up. He looked frightening compared to the leaner male. She had to do something. The other was in no condition to fight…and was that a gun? Shit, oh hell. Acting quickly, her eyes closed. Reaching with her mind, calling on the spirits to aid her, her lips mumbled words that were only used by her kind. The man fell to the ground in a large thud. He wouldn’t be out for very long maybe if she was lucky, thirty minutes but long enough for the other man to run away.
Running over to him, she acted without thinking and taking him hand, tugging him. “Come on.” He won’t be out for long. Follow me.” Why she was taking such a risk, she had no idea but touching his hand sent an electric shock through her. He wasn’t human but he was not a vampire either. Oh my God. He was a wolf? Since learning about supernatural creatures, the small brunette had yet to meet a werewolf. That would have meant that the other man was a hunter? Should she let go and turn around, waking the hunter up and killing the male? No, there had to be a balance and this one felt…good. He was also afraid. “He’ll be out for a little bit. Just don’t ask me how I did it okay?” She forced a smile, not about to reveal that she was a witch just yet. Tag: Alex Words: 613

[/img] Alex clutched his chest as it heaved up and down drastically as he tried to get more air to his lungs. It might be slightly possible that he was a tad bit unfit. After all, he spent most of his time reading or doing writing of his own – he really wasn’t used to running so fast. He was starting to get worried about how he was going to get out of this whole situation. Alex had been working late at Barnes and Noble and he hadn’t exactly expected for a hunter to turn up out of the blue to try and kill him. He was caught off-guard and had absolutely nothing to defend himself with. So, he ran. The only alternative was to lock himself in his office, but that wouldn’t save him for long. Alex was completely oblivious of the third person in the forest because he was so distracted with escaping. He had allowed himself to rest for a bit too long and before he knew it, the hunter was practically on top of him. Just as the other man pulled his gun, though, his eyes glazed over and within seconds, he had dropped to the ground. Alex looked around slightly confused. What in the world happened? The woman seemed to come out of the blue, but Alex allowed her to lead him by the hand, away from the scene, where the hunter was still lying on the ground, unconscious. As he ran behind the woman, he caught her scent. It wasn’t the familiar human scent that he was used to, it was something…else. After hearing what the woman said next, his suspicions were confirmed slightly. She was not human...but what was she? Was she the cause of the man losing consciousness? " Er...yes. I mean, of course not. Just don't ask why he was chasing me," he said, with a light laugh as he ran a hand through his messy hair. He took a nervous look around - Alex was definitely still feeling quite on edge. " How can I thank you?" he asked, still a bit breathless.[/blockquote]
