"Ansem, come on!"
Quickly shoving another round of bullets into the barrel of the shotgun, Sage raised the gun in one swift movement, bracing herself for the kick as she pulled the trigger and sent the bullets flying towards the oncoming wave of Croats. A few were downed, and although the number of the oncoming swarm hardly dwindled from the shot, it bought her enough time to rush forward and grab the arm of her brother, yanking him to his feet and shoving him forward in front of her before taking off herself, following close behind her brother.
"Are you insane? When I say move, I mean move." It was a bit difficult to keep a slight bitterness out of her tone, but she knew even with the side glance he gave her that this moment would pass over later. After all, she was only speaking that way because she was worried for him. It was what she did. He was her brother, and she wasn't about to let some stupid Croat get him just like he had with her mother.
Feet pounding against the pavement, Sage threw a glance over her shoulder to see where the Croats were. They certainly weren't to far off, since from where she was with her brother, she could practically catch the putrid smell of their breath from there. After a moment Sage cocked the gun then put more bullets in, stopping momentarily to turn and face the Croats.
Letting off the second round of bullets, Sage didn't even look over her shoulder at her brother as she yelled to him then. "Get home, Ansem. Tell dad I'll meet up with him later at Johnson's. If I don't show, you know what happened!" Then, without even another word, Sage took off, rushing past the crowd of Croats and down an alley in hopes of leading them away from her brother. Her hopes were answered, for she could hear the footsteps following close behind her as she ran down the alley. But at least her brother was safe.
"Bring it on, you ugly bastards..." Sage murmured quietly as she slowly turned around, having come to the end of the alley. As the Croats came towards her, Sage let loose another round of bullets, quickly moving to restock the gun as the next wave followed directly after. Sage narrowed her eyes ever so slightly. If she was going to die, she was going to go out in a blaze of glory, not cowering from fear. She was a hunter, after all. She was a Winchester. And Winchesters never backed down in the face of danger. It simply wasn't in their nature.

Castiel was finally out of purgatory. That wretched place was too quiet and required Castiel to flee every hour to avoid getting ambushed by the angry souls he and the Winchesters had sent there over the years. Castiel, as an angel, could easily kill the beasts around him on earth, though in purgatory, his angelic abilities faded to a degree that made fighting difficult. Even his communication with the angels was a bit silent. While he was down in purgatory, he had been spoke to by God, and the only angel that had been told a piece of valuable information. Now that the angel was out of that terrible place, he had work to do. The Winchesters would eventually get word of Cas getting help from the archangel Michael and escaping, so he did not need to tell them right away. Anyways, it had been a while since Dean had escaped, so the brothers were probably reuniting and trying to get back on track again. The angels was just a sidekick that was helpful. Cas had quite a few things to do and individuals to see. A war was coming and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it from happening, though the humans could resist...
Mystic Falls was were Castiel had been escaped to after Michael had brought him back up to Earth. But before he was to settle there and find the ones with the special blood, he needed to get reinforcements. Castiel would find help from those in the future, the exceptional hunters...a Winchester. Cas closed his eyes and when he opened then, he appeared into a new setting, one that looked abandoned and ragged. He was in the future when the Croatoan virus took over completely and there was nothing left but the beasts of hell and those that hunted them in order to survive. These individuals were the ultimate hunters. Everyone was a hunter in these times, it was the only was to continue living if that was what they wanted. Or at least living without wanting to bash a human’s head in. Castiel was invisible to all beings at the moment and when he appeared in the future, he had a the hunter he was looking for, run right past him as she used he shotgun to shoot the endless beasts that followed behind her. The angel followed behind had watched her actions. Her name was Sage Winchester and she was considered to be Dean’s future granddaughter.
Sage showed compassion and bravery as she sent her brother back to their family before she acted as a distraction and took on the Croat’s on her own with a gun in hand, trying to run and keep her gun loaded. Eventually she ended up in an alleyway, and Castiel could see that she was about to end up cornered and her gun was about to run low on ammunition. Sage wouldn’t be prepared for the masses that followed behind her. But she continued to fight, the stubbornness she had inherited from Dean Winchester. The Winchesters never wanted to back down. How did Castiel know about this? Well as an angel, Castiel already had knowledge of everyone and everything in the past, present and future, but after he became deeply involved with Sam and Dean, he started to travel to the future times and this was when he started to feel for Sage. The angel protected the female hunter in ways that she could have never guessed. Situations where she had won a battle when it may have seemed impossible or if she healed quickly or whenever her physical strength increased temporarily.
One could say that Castiel was Sage Winchester’s guardian angel, he knew much about her. The angel then appeared in between the Croats and the female hunter and when he appeared, a bright light was shown and within five seconds, the light had faded and the Croats were dead on the ground. It was an effortless action and the angel lowered his hand and then turned around slowly to face Sage Winchester....”Hello Sage...” His voice was deep as he greeted her with those two simple words that would surely bewilder her. Cas had never shown his face to her before, but she should have known about the presence of angels if they did their history on Dean and Sam Winchester back in the past.

For the first time in a long time, Sage began to wonder if she would actually die this time. She had gone through so many close calls over the years that she was surprised she had made it this far at all, and quite frankly, she figured her time to do was going to come sooner or later. This wasn't the way she really would have pictured her last moments in this hell, but given the fact she had at least given Ansem his own chance to continue living in this hell they called their home, Sage was fairly certain that her death wasn't going to go unnoticed.
Round after round she fired at the continuous line if advancing Croats, her lips set in a thin line and her eyes narrowed with hate. The moment one went down and another took it's place, all she could think of was the last moments she saw the face of her mother, of the fear and terror as the Croats came upon her and ripped her limb from limb. A rage filled her, and even as she felt the small stash of bullets she had in her pocket growing lighter with each shot, she never once let up on her assault against the violent creatures which were so hell bent on her own death.
Finally the moment came where her last round was used up. A ringing sound hung in the air as silence slowly began to fill the void left by the absence of the gun, all of it mixing with the growls and guttural sounds the Croats were giving off. Sage slowly backed away, her lips twisting down into a small scowl as she felt the cool stone against her back. "Well," She murmured quietly as she watched the advancing line continue towards her. "Guess I'm coming to see you, mom."
Sage closed her eyes, waiting for the feeling of the Croats' hands upon her body and for everything to end. But then there was the light. Even with her eyes closed, it was still blinding. She froze, unsure of what to do, but after a moment she slowly opened her eyes. The sight of the Croats laying dead all around her was surprising , but the sight of the strange man was even weirder.
Sage eyed the stranger carefully, wary of his sudden appearance. But it was when he said her name that her eyes widened in surprise. "How do you know my name?" She said softly, tensing a bit now. "Who are you?" Thoughts of what had just happened ran through her mind. Stories her father had told her in the past began to run through her head, among those being the stories of the angels who had been there in the time of her descendants, and then everything clicked. Sage's eyes widened slightly. "You're an angel...."

Castiel followed along the Croatoans, rendering invisible and intangible from both parties. His eyes followed mainly on Sage, watching as the fear started to dwell within as it spread deeper in deeper into her thoughts. She was ready to sacrifice herself in honor of protecting her family. Castiel tilted his head to the side, he was bewildered and at times could not understand how humans were so easy to give up their own lives for their loved ones when they themselves only lived once. Cas couldn’t imagine such a life, the humans were able to die so easily, it was questionable as to why God created them so fragile. The look in her face and eyes seemed as if she was prepared to die that very day in that corner that she got herself into. There were a few things that she could learn from Sam and Dean, one would be knowing your surroundings. Then again, she was only human and they made so many mistakes, at times Cas felt sorry for the human race. As his eyes gazed over her and felt the emotions she was feeling, he tried to infuse some hope into her heart.
Cas was Sage’s guardian angel, and just like the other times when she found herself in impossible situations, the angel was there to aid her. Soon, Sage wouldn’t have to fear mortal wounds... The bullets continued to be fired towards the enemy and some of them fell as others continued to make their way towards her to rip her body apart. Her eyes filled hate for the monsters...they had taken her mother and other loved ones so many years ago, but the hate come off like it was fresh and new. Castiel waited until she was fully out of ammunition and as she spoke lightly as the beasts continued to rage toward her, her last words was that she would see her mother again as she closed her eyes. ”Not just yet.” Castiel mumbled to himself before revealing himself and exposing a bright light to eliminate the Croatoans that surrounded them. A part of Castiel was discouraged in Sage, ready to die without a fight. A gun wasn’t her last way of fighting for her life.
Once the deed was done and the two of them were safe for now, Cas turned towards her and said her name quietly. Of course the random and sudden appearance of a stranger would shock a human, especially if they were not used to angels popping in and out endlessly. Eventually she would get used to it once he brought her back to present time. Dean was quite annoyed when Cas poofed in unannounced as he pleased. At the revealing of her name, she asked the obvious question about how he knew her name. Her eyes said that she was cautious, but her voice seemed trusting. When she asked who he was, the angel sighed and stepped over a few dead bodies as he came in closer to her. ”I’m Castiel...” Then she finished his sentence to conclude that he was an angel. Castiel lightly nodded as a very slight smile arose on his lips, it was more amusement then happiness.
”I’m an fallen angel of the Lord. I have been your guardian angel for all of these years.” Cas paused before continuing, he preferred getting to the point of things. ”You’re needed in the past, which is the present. There a threat of the Leviathans trying to open hell’s gates and releasing Lucifer. You are needed because you are a Winchester, an exceptional hunter.” The angel paused again, looking down and then looking back up to her. ”If you come with me now, you will be granted temporary immortality in favor of the angels.” The angel was bold and upfront, there would be time for questions later...or now if she truly preferred.
