Cade parked the car, and looked over at the passenger seat with a smile. Loki, his three year old Australian shepherd, was practically bouncing in the seat, his ears forward, and his stubby tail going about a mile a minute. It had been a while now since Cade had been able to get the dog out and just let him run. He felt bad for Loki sometimes, with Cade’s job as a hunter the dog often got left behind when he worked. True that Cade’s life outside the hunt revolved around his dog, but still...Hunting took up a large amount of his time. Especially lately.
He double checked his usual arsenal of weapons. Two knives, both silver bladed, and two hand guns found themselves in various places on his body. All were easily concealed, but also easily within reach should he need them. Which he hoped he didn’t. With the weapons in place, he opens the door to his 1985 mustang and gets out stretching, “Come on Lok,” he calls, causing the Aussie to bound out of the car with a loud bark. Cade just smiled and locked and shut the door behind him.
Loki took off like a shot across the snow dusted grounds of the park, barking all the while like the idiot he was. Cade just smiled, and thanked god that the park was empty. He had never leashed Loki, and wouldn’t start now, but it didn’t mean he wanted his dog to be a pain in the ass to everyone else. No, he would take the dog home before he let that happen. The park was deserted though as far as Cade could see, so he began to walk around slowly, watching as Loki acted the fool.
It was nice to just, well walk around. He didn’t have anything to do today, and he was in no hurry. It was relaxing. Just...Nice and peaceful. For the first time in a year or so, Cade was completely relaxed and just..Alive. He wasn’t fighting, wasn’t drinking or anything like that. Stopping, he whistles sharply, causing Loki to stop and look at him. Smirking Cade bends down and makes a small snow ball, still watching the dog. “Gonna catch it? he asks as faints a couple throws at the dog. Loki barks and bounces around, and Cade throws the snow ball, the dog snapping it up out of thin air before looking at his owner with a grin, waiting for another one.
