A life like mine

It’s certainly a lonely life
But a fulfilling one at best

The Usual Suspects And What Should Never Be
Sometimes I get a feeling, deep in my soul. Sometimes I get a feeling, deep in my bones.
Hair: She has chocolate brown hair, with slight ombre highlights. It’s length is just below her chest. Taryn’s hair is naturally wavy, almost always down and sometimes in curls. The only time she puts it up is in a ponytail when she feeds, mainly because she hates to get blood in her hair.
Height & Weight: Taryn is an average height of five feet six inches, with a small petite frame of one-hundred and nineteen pounds.
Body Type: Although she may be petite, doesn’t mean that Taryn lacks any sort of curves. She has a nice bust and bottom, with a slight curve of her hips. She also has slight muscles, which accounts for her physical strength as a vampire. She flaunts her curves as much as she can.
Distinguishing Features: Taryn has a small but prominent nose, with sculpted cheekbones and arched eyebrows. She has one ear piercing in each ear and no tattoos. Her body is almost perfect, aside from the medium sized beauty mark on her right shoulderblade, ironically in the shape of a crude heart.

Best Memory: Taryn was with her family in the 1950’s, her mother, father, brother and sister. They decided to go to the zoo. It was a wonderful day seeing all the animals, but the car broke down on the way home. They ended up camping out in the wilderness on a whim. At first, Taryn was afraid of what could be out there, but her father made the fear go away. He picked up some marshmallows from a the corner shop where the car was being fixed, and they all burnt them but they tasted good anyway. They spent half the night just counting the stars and speaking stories. It was the closest her family had been that weekend.
Worst Memory:
It was the night that she had been captured by the werewolves. Taryn was a vampire then, and after much consideration, decided to visit her family at home just to say good bye. When arriving to the home, she saw that everyone in her family had been torn open by a pack of werewolves. Apparently they had been tracking her, and rendered her unconscious to take her prisoner for almost forty years.

[/li][li] Likes to dance when she is overly happy.
Overall Personality/Appearance:
Taryn is one of those girls who just happens to love clothes. In fact, she owns an entire room in her house full of them. It’s not so much about the accessories, even though she likes things that sparkle. Taryn hates makeup and rarely wears it, insisting on showing her natural beauty. The majority of her wardrobe isn’t so much girly as it is sexy. She likes showing off her assets, and often goes for more of a darker tone of clothing. Her signature look is some kind of really low cut shirt, tight jeans, and a pair of boots. She doesn’t really style her hair, and it’s usually wild with waves. Taryn’s hair is never up, unless she is feeding. Her favorite color to wear is red, obviously to hide the fact that sometimes she gets blood everywhere.
As far as personality goes, the phrase that usually sums her up is sexy bad ass girl. Taryn cons people into getting what she wants. She never paid for her clothes, or her house. The only reason why she works at the Mystic Grill is because she can sing there and it’s easier to pick up victims. She basically puts her charm on and can persuade people, even without using compulsion. Basically, whatever she wants she gets, because she’ll find one way or another to aquire it. One might think that she is selfish with this, it is just the way she is. It’s not like she is using every minute of every day anyway.
Taryn is not one to make friends, mainly because she is afraid of hurting them if she did. She has a lot of self control when going in between feedings, but that doesn’t mean she makes mistakes. Therefore knowing any sort of human is out of the question. That is unless she is flirting with you because she’s about to make you dinner. Taryn always goes for male figures, usually picking them up at the bar or the club. She convinces for them to bring them back to their place and feeds on them along the way. Since there was no vampire to teach her the proper way to feed or be what she is, she always kills the victim on accident. This leads to extreme guilt on her part, and often will try to starve herself from blood afterward.
If someone were to meet her, she usually is stubborn and somewhat of smart ass. She doesn’t like to show her vulnerable side mainly because that shows weakness, and she doesn’t want to do that anymore. Romance wise, she doesn’t really think she has the capacity to love anyone because of what she is. If someone were to be patient with her, someone that she knew she couldn’t hurt she could try. This is also perhaps because of her past with her ex-fiance. When losing him, Taryn didn’t know if she could love again.
Taryn absolutely hates werewolves and mostly every other supernatural. Because of what had happened to her for such a long time, she can’t really trust anyone too easily. She thinks that everyone is out to get her, and often greets them with black eyes and fangs bared. She would most likely attack any werewolf that crossed her path, regardless if they were good or not. She thinks they are the devil’s spawn.
Pretty much it will be difficult getting to know Taryn. If someone does perhaps get past that barrier, she’ll be loyal to that person to the very end. Anyone close to her is considered family, and she always had the concept of a tight-knit family she would do anything for. It is just a matter of getting past her wall. Unless you are a human, then prepare to be dinner.

Overall History:
Taryn Elisabeth O’Mara was born in Dublin, Ireland during the late 1940’s to Elisabeth and Brian O’Mara. Their family wasn’t anything special, they owned a butcher shop. It was safe to say that Taryn was their pride and joy as the first born. She was born a bit different, as most people in her family had the signature red hair and fair skin. Yet Taryn had brown hair, olive skin, and very dark eyes. Brian never even questioned if perhaps Elisabeth had been involved with another man, he simply loved them both too much to care. It was set to be a typical close knit family as they did everything together. By the time Taryn could walk and talk, she was pretty much the mascot for the butcher shop. Every morning she would draw with chalk on the building and sidewalk and then on some days she would sing the old Irish tunes. The city found it to be adorable and the butcher shop got enough business to finally own a house of their own, as well as a farm.
It wasn’t until Taryn was five that she had gotten her very own baby brother, Jonothan. Even though most children at that age would of felt jealous of all the attention going towards the baby, Taryn was a great help with Jonothan. She created a bond with him, often watching him around the store when their mother was busy, as she was homeschooled. Two years later came Ashley, and it didn’t change. For three children, they were as close as they could be, relying on each other for everything while helping out with the butcher shop.
This had lasted until Taryn had turned Eighteen. Even though she had done schooling at home, she was a very bright kid, passing all the marks. She was so bright that she even had been invited to go to the University of Cambridge for college study. It took a lot of persuasion actually from her family to go. Taryn didn’t want to leave them, but she had dreamt of getting a college education to become a doctor, the only thing standing in her way was the issue of money. That night, her parents had given them their life savings, just enough to cover two years of school as a start. It was settled. She was going.
Taryn was good at school, and it didn’t take long for her to get her bachelor’s degree. In fact, she had earned a scholarship to get her doctorate there. It was at Cambridge that she met a man named Jared St. James. Jared was going into politics, and they had bumped into each other in the library. There was just something about him that Taryn had hooked onto and she was the one to first ask him on a date. They dated for two years until Jared bent down on one knee and asked for Taryn to marry him. Of course Taryn said yes. She wrote home to her parents telling all about him and promised to arrange the wedding back home in Ireland once they both were done with school. The two were inseparable, to the point that she overlooked the fact the really never ate with her, and that he would often disappear at night. She assumed it was just a guy thing and was too preoccupied with classes and planning a wedding.
There was one night where Jared had frantically phoned her flat asking for her to come over. Taryn arrived as soon as she could, the look of panic written all over his face. Jared asked if she trusted him with her life. Of course she said yes. After prying on what was going on, Jared admitted that there were people after him for things he had done in the past. Taryn didn’t care, saying that she loved him no matter what. He asked if she believed in magic, and wanted to know if she could live forever with him, running away from this life. Taryn was didn’t know why but she had agreed. It was then that Jared turned her into what he was, a vampire. Over a course of the transformation, Jared left promising that they could run off together as soon as he took care of whoever was chasing after him. Jared never returned.
The month of waiting for him to come back was torture. She had no clue how to be a vampire, messily ripping into people’s throats and leaving their bodies in the forest. She couldn’t go out in the sun, not understanding how Jared was able to. The only thing she knew about vampires what was written in books, but everything they said about them was wrong, totally wrong. Finally believing that he was never going to come back for her, she became home sick. It took nearly three days to muster the courage to get on a night flight back to Dublin to visit her family.
However, when Taryn arrived, she was not greeted into the arms of her family. She could smell the rotting flesh yards away from their home. Only the fact that she could enter the home without being invited in was enough to confirm her suspions. Rounding the corner to the living room, she saw all four of them. Every single one of the members of her family were dead, their throats ripped out by what looked like an animal. She openly wept for them, cursing whoever did it. Little did she know that the perpetrators were still there, and rendered Taryn unconscious.
Taryn awoke in a dark room, the room has been locked, and couldn’t escape for she was weak. It was then that she had learned who had done all of this to her, killing both her fiancé and her family. It was a pack of werewolves `that Jared had wronged throughout the years. They took their revenge out on Taryn. The werewolves would taint the bowls of blood they feed her with vervain, making her very weak, often to the point of death. She had been locked in the room for almost thirty years, the wolves claiming they were keeping her there to rot for Jared’s sins. Apparently Jared dying wasn’t by their hands, and they needed revenge one way or another. The damn mutts had kept her as a pet and a prisoner for so long.
Taryn doesn’t know what snapped in her one day. There was no specific event, she decided that she was going to starve herself off of the blood. She convinced herself that she didn’t need it, and dumped it down the sink every time it was given to her. Day by day her strength had returned back to her, and one night, she managed to rip the door off its hinges and escape. She decided it wasn’t enough just to run back to England, she needed to go farther. It only took a day for her to arrive to Mystic Falls.
Since then, Taryn has been living in Mystic Falls, usually conning people into getting what she wants. She took a job at the Mystic Grill to sing. Often she would hunt humans at the grill, the bar, or even the club as she loved to dance. However, she kept a watchful eye out for anyone that didn’t look right to her, scared that the wolves would find her once again. Till then, she spent her nights, as she still couldn’t go out in the sun, singing and hunting. If only there was someone to teach her how to be a proper vampire…

Dream A Little Dream Of Me, Bloody Mary
I never meant to be so bad to you, one thing I said that I would never do.
Roleplay Sample:
Sun lights up the day time
moon lights up the night
I light up when you call my name
and you know i'm gonna treat you right…
Taryn loved this time of her shifts at the Mystic Grill, mainly because it was the time that she was in the spotlight. Well, she didn’t have a spotlight but rather a small corner of the grill set up with a drumset, and a couple of microphones. She meant it metaphorically, as it was her time to shine. She loved to sing, especially when there were people willing to listen. As it was a Friday night, the Grill was particularly busy and several people occupied the tables in front of her in order to hear her sing. It was just like moths to a flame.
Now you listened to my story
Here's the point that i have made
Chicks were born to give you fever
Be it fair and have a sense of game …
Taryn recently had arrived to Mystic Falls. It didn’t take her long to make herself a home here. That was the beauty of having her charm, mostly everyone would be willing to do anything for her, and whatever Taryn wanted, she got. It wasn’t as if she were attempting to rule this small town, merely just establishing some sort of normalcy for her. After being imprisoned by a group of werewolves for almost thirty years, she just wanted to get back to being a normal young adult. That was if she wasn’t over sixty years old. That was one of the perks of being a vampire, she guessed, the fact that she didn’t look a day over twenty-two.
Her eyes scanned the tables in front of her as she sang the sultry blues song. It fit her, almost as much as her outfit that night. Even though she would waitress when she wasn’t singing, she had convinced the owner of the grill to where what she wanted. By convinced she meant she compulsed him. When Taryn was singing, she didn’t wear her apron, so she looked even more dazzling in the low lights. Wearing a burgundy low cut shirt and black slacks with a pair of heels was one of her signature looks. It obviously caught the boy’s attention, which is exactly what she wanted. Mainly because that night, she was starving.
No hamburger was going to curve that feeling either, for she was a vampire. Problem was, when she was turned her sire pretty much bit the dust. There had been no one to tell her how to live as a vampire, no owner’s manual or anything. She had to learn most things by herself. For the most part, she could control the cravings. However, she had put if off for too long. Tonight she was going to feed, the only question was who.
As the song came to a close, her question had been answered for her. A young man that had been practically drooling the entire time she sang had approached. It only took a couple minutes of flirting. Perhaps it was because of the movement of her pupils as she told him that they should go somewhere more private that he had agreed. Grabbing the man’s hand she pulled him to the back alley.
“I’ve never been with a woman this quickly before.. god you’re so hot.” He commented with a goofy grin as she pushed him up against the brick wall. “I know..” was the only comment that Taryn made as she sunk her fangs into his flesh. Unbeknownst to her that someone was actually watching her in the darkness as she drained the life of the man. The appeal of blood was so much she could stop. If no one pushed her away now, the man was to surely die…
hey give you fever
when you kiss them
Fever if you really learned
Fever
Till you sizzlen
But what a lovely way to burn…
