“Of course you’ll be fine.” Brielle assured him, moving to lace her fingers with his own, her head resting against the cage bars. “I do intend to keep my promise, Alex. I will help you find a cure. I’m sure there has to be something out there. All we have to do is look hard enough.” She honestly didn’t know if there was one. She wasn’t quite so well versed about werewolves. All she knew is that they changed at a full moon into something less human like. She also didn’t know if he wouldn’t hurt her. It was Alex, but was his mind still there? To her, it did not matter. She was going to try and get through to him no matter what. Even if it was on the other side of the cage.
What Gabrielle did not account for was for two demons to show up. Apparently her fears had been right. She should have been more secretive, she should of hid more. Now she was endangering Alex in this matter as well. She cursed herself for the fact that her healing wasn’t working. Now it wouldn’t do any good, as her body hit the concrete wall. For a moment everything blacked out, as her vision came back as fuzzy, her head was killing her. So this is what pain felt like. Brielle did not like it one bit.
She moved to roll on her stomach to attempt to pull herself up. Yet Alex was immediately at her side. How? He must of broken through the cage. She put a hand to her head, feeling the warm stickiness that slightly flowed there. “Ow.” Is what she muttered with a cough.
“Oh look at this. A werewolf protecting an Angel. You do know you are an abomination towards God? You’ll most likely end up with us bunch, so why be a good puppy and move aside..” The demon smirked as the other moved to pick up Aly by the throat, shoving her back into the wall and tightening his grip around her neck. She struggled to get air, kicking wildly. “Think of it this way, Crowley might even let her live. But only if you go back into that little cage of yours and let us play with our new toy.”

Alex grinned as Brielle laced her fingers with his own, assuring him that everything would be alright. It really touched him that she wanted to help him so badly. In all honesty, he could use all of the help he could get. The joined minds of himself, his youngest sister and his father had only made a dent in the possibility that they might find or come up with a cure. His sister, Zelda, may have been a bit too prideful to accept help, but certainly not Alex. “Thank you, Brielle,” he said, pulling her hand away from his face to kiss it.
The comment about Alex being an abomination against God really hit him. It was something that he’d always worried about, ever since he had learned about werewolves, but especially when his father was bitten and when he, himself, was bitten. However, he couldn’t really imagine being sent to Hell just because he had been a victim of an attack, especially when he hadn’t attacked anyone himself. That he was aware of.
A bout of pain hit Alex just and the demon took the chance to grab Brielle without any opposition. He collapsed to the ground, unable to keep himself standing for the time being. It passed for the time being and he was able to pull himself back to his feet. “Werewolf jokes, hmm? How original. I suppose I should have expected something like that from demons,” he said, brushing his hair out of his face,”You all can never come up with something new.” He was hoping to at least temporarily distract the demons from Brielle so he could think of something that could get them both out of this mess alive.
Aha! That was it. Right next to where the demon was holding Brielle was a cabinet, where Alex kept certain items that could be used against evil creatures. He moved quickly and after calling on practically all of the strength he could muster, pulled the demon off of Brielle and pulled a container of salt from the cabinet. Alex moved as fast as he could and made a circle of salt around himself and Brielle.

Gabrielle didn’t like this, being helpless. She was an angel, a seraphim for pete’s sake. She should of simply just looked at them and expelled the demons from their bodies. But she couldn’t, she was afraid. She didn’t want to fight back, not in front of Alex. Brielle hated violence, hated fighting. Yet, she also didn’t want him to get hurt in the process. Her mind was reeling, and couldn’t think of how to get out of the mess fast enough mainly because of the lack of oxygen. It was then that Alex decided to act for her. He had managed to get enough strength to pull the demon away and encircle them in salt. Good thing he had that cabinet, apparently he knew all about other creatures and not just werewolves.
She coughed a bit, trying to get air back into her lungs, warm liquid dripping from the cut on her forehead. The demons looked pissed, trying as they might to get past, but the barrier of salt protected them. “Don’t worry. We have eternity to wait until you get out of there. It looks like your pet can’t help the change, and we’ll kill him if it means we get to you.” One of the demons threatened. That is what set Gabrielle off. He would not threaten the one friend she had in this world. He would not threaten the man she was slowly falling in love with. No more nice Brielle.
Propping herself up on her knees, she managed to pull herself up. Gabrielle stumbled within the circle a bit as the room spun but she wasn’t going to give up that easily. Holding her hand upright, one of the demons began to choke out what looked like awful black smoke. A small smirk played on her lips with a tilt of her head. “Go. To. Hell.” Was all she said to them before the demons were expelled from their meatsuits, being sent back to the very place that they came. Just like that it was over… for now.
Brielle groaned, placing her hand to her head to wipe off some of the blood. It wasn’t too bad of a cut, she would look to get it cleaned later. “Are you alright?” She asked Alex, looking at him with concern. He had broke open the cage, and she could tell he was close to transforming. Brielle smiled softly, and moved over to him. “Don’t worry. I know you won’t hurt me. Don’t fight it, just let go. I’ll make sure that you don’t go anywhere or do anything. I promise. Just let go.” Brielle kissed him on the cheek.

Alex glanced down at Brielle when he heard her coughing. Oh, dear. She was bleeding. He quickly directed his attention back to the demons when one of them spoke up. Alex got a slight sense of satisfaction from the angry looks the demons were giving him, but the smirk was quickly wiped off his face when he heard what the demons said. He really didn’t care what they did to him. There was no way that he was going to let them harm Brielle, if there was anything he could do to stop it.
He did a double take when he realized what was happening to the demon and that Brielle was the cause of it. Alex could feel the transformation urge becoming stronger, but he was doing what he could to mentally block it until at least the demons were gone. It was getting very strong, though, and he wasn’t sure how much longer he could hold off. He was just able to hear Brielle threaten the demons before the pain took over and he groaned as he collapsed to the ground.
“Fine,” he said, shortly as he tried to hold off on the transformation a bit longer. Alex felt the fear come back a bit. What if she was wrong? What if he harmed her in some way? After Brielle kissed him on the cheek, he lost all concentration and the transformation took over.
Alex began writhing on the floor as his muscles and bones began to rearrange themselves into the form of a wolf. His cries of pain gradually turned to a howl. In a matter of moments, a snarling, yellow eyed wolf had taken place of Alex Garrett.

Brielle did not like to see Alex in pain. She didn’t really like to see anyone in pain but him in particular. Especially since she was a healer. Why couldn’t she take this pain from him? If she could switch places with him she would. It almost brought her to tears to see him on the ground groaning. She knew that it would hurt more if he was holding off the transformation, Brielle only hoped that he would listen to her pleas and just give in to it. She had no doubt in her mind that he wouldn’t hurt her. Alex was not a monster. He was not evil. This was just another side of him. If human part of Alex wouldn’t lay a hand on her, than the wolf side wouldn’t either. It was still Alex, just a bit more… furry.
Gabrielle had to look away when he was writhing on the floor. Hot tears spilled from her eyes. “I know. I’m sorry, Alex. I’m so so sorry. I wish I could take away the pain. The only thing I can do is promise to help you find a cure. “ She wasn’t afraid, she was sad. This is what sadness felt like. She could feel it as if her vessel’s heart, her heart had been stabbed by some sharp object. Once his cries of pain changed into a howl, only then did she look back at him. Brielle didn’t want to ever witness that again, but she would. She would be with him for every single transformation from now. She will stomach it because she didn’t want him to ever be alone dealing with this again.
When she had looked back, a wolf stood in the place that Alex once was. Instead of frowning, or running in fear, Brielle stood her ground with a smile on her face. She ignored the snarling, and moved to sit cross legged in front of him. “Alex. I know you are in there. Don’t worry, I’ll be here for you all night. If you want, I can tell you all about heaven.” Slowly she moved her hand toward him, in an attempt to run her hand gently through his fur. Taking in a breath, she spent the majority of the night talking about Heaven, never leaving his side.
It wasn’t until the early dawn, that she fell asleep. Angels might not have needed sleep, but her vessel did. Brielle was sitting against the wall next to the door, her head slightly drooping from the uncomfortable position. She had Alex’s jacket draped on her as a blanket, her bare feet peeking out from the bottom of it. Her head lolled slightly, her hair falling into her face as she lightly slept, being able to awake any moment that Alex came to.

Alex’s eyes fluttered open and he blinked to help them to focus a bit faster. It took a moment for the pain to register in his mind. Well, not so much pain exactly, but the aches and soreness. It was really hard on the human body to be twisted and contorted into a completely different animal’s shape. He grabbed a hold of the cabinet he had been lying next to and used it to pull himself to his feet, ignoring the opposition his body was giving him in the form of pain.
He did a double take when he realized he wasn’t in the room alone. Brielle! Oh…oh, right. Alex had momentarily forgotten that Brielle had come last night – and the demons. Oh, and she had seen the transformation. He carefully took a few steps towards her. She seemed to be sleeping calmly. Could it be possible that he really hadn’t hurt her at all?
Alex grabbed his tie from off of the floor and put it back on. Then tucked his shirt back into his pants. He ran a hand through his hair before carefully approaching Brielle. Alex winced as he lowered himself to the ground next to her. Gently, he brushed the angel’s blonde hair off of her face.
“Brielle?” he said quietly, not wanting to jolt her awake. He hoped that he was correct in assuming that he really hadn’t hurt her. He was almost surprised to find her sleeping. Did angels need to sleep?
"Are you alright?"

Gabrielle slightly stirred in her sleep when Alex had awoke. She pulled his jacket closer to her body with a small shiver. She had cleaned herself up last night after the run in with the demons. The cut on her forehead had been healed, and she had brought the humans back to their homes after the demons were gone. She had only been gone for merely a second, knowing full well that the wolf would stay. She had even managed to change into an emerald green long sleeved jersey knit dress. Still no shoes though. God, how she hated shoes.
She could feel his fingers gently brush the hair out of her face as he called her name. Brielle smiled softly as her eyes slowly opening. “Good morning.” She said with a slight yawn. Sleeping was nice because she could dream. Angels never got that chance, but her vessel needed the sleep. Without sleep her vessel could break down, and the fact that she was stuck in it… she didn’t know what would happen if her vessel died.
“Yes of course, Alex. I’m perfectly fine. A bit cold though. It’s snowing outside.” She reassured him. Brielle tilted her head up to see him, noticing the look of concern on his face. “Do not worry, you did not harm me. I spent countless hours tell you stories about heaven until you fell asleep. You never even left this room.” Gabrielle explained. She didn’t want to tell him how much the transformation hurt her to see him in so much pain. Apparently the pain didn’t go away the day after.
Slowly, she reached her hand up to softly grasp his shoulder. Brielle’s hand softly glowed, as she hoped she could take away the aches and pains after the transformation at least. She would only know if he told her. “You didn’t scare me away. I’m staying put, not going anywhere. Besides, you need to tell me more about this love stuff.”

Alex heaved a sigh of relief when he heard Brielle’s reply. This was wonderful! His grin grew as she embellished on the explanation. “Why, this is – this is wonderful news!” he said, his grin broadening as he turned to face straight ahead. There was a part of him that had been so sure that something bad was going to happen. He hated to be that negative, but in this kind of situation, one needed to consider all of the facts. And the fact of the matter was that there was a good chance that the feral wolf might have attacked.
He winced slightly as Brielle touched him on the shoulder. Oh, he was very sore, indeed. However, as he hand glowed, the pain slowly diminished. It wasn’t completely gone, but it was definitely much easier to handle. He grinned and moved his arms a bit, but paused when the pain hit him again. Alright, so just no movements that weren’t absolutely necessarily. “Thank you,” he said, placing a hand on his shoulder, on top of Brielle’s,”That’s much better.”
He carefully moved to his feet and paused, expecting a rush of pain to hit him, but it was endurable. “Can I fix you a cup of tea? It’ll take care of that chill. Er…are you hungry?” he asked, rubbing his chin, trying to think of what else he had in his cupboard that he might be able to fix for her. Having four young men live together certainly made for a somewhat bare cabinet from time to time. “We can discuss love over breakfast, hmm?” he said with a wink.

Gabrielle tilted her head to study him. He seemed so happy about the fact that he didn’t hurt her. Yet, she knew that he wouldn’t hurt her. Deep down inside she knew. He wasn’t just a wolf. He was Alex. Her Alex. At least she hoped he was his. She felt that deep darkness and anger when they had threatened him. She also felt something else. Something she couldn’t describe. A feeling that she wouldn’t do nice things if anyone took Alex away. Whether if it was an enemy or a lover. She wanted to be only his. Was that a feeling? Or was she just weird about this… damn being an angel in a human body was hard.
“Don’t you get it? You are not a monster. You never were. Sure, every month you are a bit more.. hairy. Yet, you are still the same person. If you believe in here..” Brielle explained, poking him in the chest where his heart should be. “that you are a good person. Then the wolf would never do anything. Your fears are just that.. fears. There is nothing to be afraid of. Except Lightning. Lightning is scary. I don’t like Lightning.”
Slowly, Gabrielle got up from the floor and brushed off her green dress. She handed Alex his jacket back and rubbed her arms slightly to warm her up. “A cup of tea does sound wonderful but I have a better idea about breakfast.” Immediately Brielle grabbed his hand, and in a flurry of feathers, instead of being in Alex’s basement, they were at her house. Or rather, at the house her vessel owned. Brielle guessed it was hers now that she was stuck. Letting go of his hand, and disregarding the fact that it could of hurt him to transport like that, she made her way to the kitchen. “I’m going to make you breakfast!”

[/img] Alex grinned and laughed slightly as Brielle poked him in the chest. He wasn’t sure that he completely believed her. After all, he had done extensive research of werewolves and nothing he found said anything about this kind of thing. In all of his experiences with werewolves, he’d never found one that had any problems with attacking someone in their wolf form at least. They could be perfectly lovely people in their human form, but once the full moon hit them, they were bloodthirsty monsters. He luckily hadn’t run into a vampire on the full moon. Alex knew that his wolf form would show no mercy in disposing of the vampire in any way that it could. He didn’t really have anything against vampires and he certainly didn’t want to be the culprit of a vampire’s death simply because he was a werewolf and they were a vampire. “ Yes, well,” he said with a nod, looking away from her, which made it somewhat obvious that he didn’t completely believe her,” Anyway, time for breakfast!” Alex hopped to his feet and patted the dust off of his pants. He raised his eyebrows when he heard what Brielle said, his curiosity caught. Alex glanced down at Brielle took his hand, but before he could do anything, let alone say anything, she had teleported them to her own home. He put his hand to his head to steady it, as the teleportation had caused some slight dizziness. “ Er…d’you know how to cook anything?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.[/blockquote]

That was one thing Gabrielle didn’t quite understand about humans. How they were so quick to not believe in anything. They believed in oxygen, the air that they breathed. Yet they could not see it. Alex believed in her and other monsters… demons, werewolves. She knew he did with the cabinet he kept in his basement. Yet why was he dismissing the fact that he wasn’t truly a monster? If could only accomplish one thing on her time on earth, it was to prove to him that he wasn’t evil, that he wouldn’t hurt anyone. More importantly he wouldn’t hurt her. Even if he did, even in some sort of accident, she could heal herself anyway. That is, if she wasn’t dead. Brielle still wasn’t quite sure about that one yet. It all had to do with this place called Mystic Falls.
Brielle had busied herself by taking things out of cabinets. She didn’t know what to grab or what to make. What was it that humans ate during breakfast? Spaghetti? Green Eggs and Ham? She had no clue. She would have to manage though. She wanted to prove that she could be more human by doing this simple task. Grabbing almost every pan out of the cupboard, it made a lot of noise while placing them on the counter. Along with the pans she grabbed a sponge, a clock radio, and even placed the microwave on the kitchen island. Now it was time to grab the food.
“Um…” Brielle put off his question as best as she could. Opening the fridge, she stared at it. She had no idea how to cook or what the stuff was in there. So just like the pans, she stared pulling stuff out. Among the items included a carton of ice cream, some Italian dressing, and egg whites. Placing them on the table, she stared at the microwave. Trying to push the buttons and not realizing it was unplugged, she got frustrated, looking over at Alex. “Okay, so maybe I don’t know how to make breakfast. Or rather, what breakfast even is.”

[/img] Alex raised his eyebrows as he watched Brielle busy herself around the kitchen, pulling completely random things from the cupboards and cabinets. What in the world was she making? At first, he thought that it might be some kind of strange angelic recipe, but after he saw the sponge and clock radio, he surmised that she had no idea what she was doing. A slight grin crept across his face as he waited for Brielle to answer his question. She seemed to be trying to buy as much time as possible so that she could think of a response. Or at least, that’s what Alex thought. The grin broadened when he heard what Brielle said. He had grown to seriously care for her, but he still had a bit of trouble wrapping his mind about everything that had happened. Brielle was an angel. An angel. And she had admitted that she was falling in love with him. He felt as if his heart might explode at the very thought. He was afraid to get his hopes up, since he had been in this sort of situation before and had his heart broken. But at the same time, there was something about his whole situation that was different than before, and not just that the girl was an angel instead of a human. Alex grinned and slowly moved towards Brielle, backing her into the corner of the counter. He rested his hands on the counter, on either side of her. " Perhaps we should make breakfast a little bit later," he said, staring into her eyes.[/blockquote]

Brielle didn’t know what a Microwave was. When she was instructed to heal humans and be more attached to earth, she did just that. She healed humans. Although she was curious about them and knew a lot about their history. The way they lived was completely alien to her. She could deduce that breakfast was something that humans needed to eat in the morning to get going with their day. What they were supposed to eat and how to make it was something she did not know. True, she could simply make whatever she wanted to appear, but Gabrielle was trying to be more human. Humans didn’t make food randomly appear in their hands.
She stared at the front of the microwave. “It has numbers. But I do not understand. Do you just push them and then the food appears inside?” She tilted her head, poking it. Looking around, Gabrielle saw the cord that was unplugged. A look of horror on her face, holding it up. “Oh no! I killed it!” She frowned, trying to push the plug into the microwave but it wouldn’t fit. “Oh I gave up. I killed the food machine, and this doesn’t even look edible!” Brielle exclaimed holding up the dressing.
Gabrielle still was confused and frustrated over the matter until she saw Alex smiling at her. It was apparent he was trying very hard not to laugh at her. She simply couldn’t be mad at anything for that long, and quickly forgot about making breakfast. Perhaps she could make stuff appear just this once. Brielle was on the verge of asking him what he would like to eat. However, her train of thought was cut off when he moved towards her. So much so that he had her cornered against the counter. She could feel the heat rising to her cheeks, turning a slight rosy pink. Her breath hitched, and she could feel her heat pounding in her chest. The close proximity of him made all of these feelings in her human body. Stuff she didn’t understand. So much so she had no clue what to say except. “Why are you not hungry?” Answering the question about putting off breakfast as the best she could.
“I… I.. I am afraid I don’t understand Alex. These… feelings. I don’t get it. I can’t breathe. I have birds in my stomach I think. I.. love you.. I think. Is this Love? I think I might need a bit of help..”

[/img] Alex simply could not contain his amusement any longer and finally released a light laugh at Brielle’s confusion. “ Brielle, you didn’t kill it – it’s not a living being,” he said, moving forward to pick up the microwave. He carefully carried it back to the little nook and plugged it in. “ This is what heats up the food in a jiffy when you need it,” he said, patting the top of the machine. He took the dressing from her and set it down on the counter. “ And you wouldn’t eat this by itself – it’s more of a seasoning to add flavor,” he said with a goofy grin. Alex had grown used to cooking, since all of his roommates seemed to have issues with it. Jacob simply refused to do it and Vincent and David were both far too accident prone to be even allowed near the microwave, let alone anything else. Besides, Alex found himself enjoying the cooking anyway. He grinned when he saw Brielle’s cheeks start to turn pink. It made her look even more beautiful. He moved a bit closer until their faces were only inches apart. Just as he was about to lean in to kiss her, she spoke up. He lowered his head, staring at the ground as he began to laugh. Well, that wasn’t exactly working out how he had planned at all. At Brielle’s next words, Alex felt as if his heart had jumped into his throat. He moved his head back a bit and stared into Brielle’s eyes. “ D-d’you think it’s love? What does your heart tell you?” he asked, after finding his voice again. It may be a little cliché to say, but that was really the only way to know if one was truly in love. [/blockquote]

Brielle stared at the Microwave. It was a machine, but could she heal it? She had no clue how she killed it, with that thing—cord hanging out. She was about to have a panic attack when Alex let out a laugh. He was laughing at her. He was really laughing at her. She didn’t know whether to laugh with him or frown. She picked frowning. Apparently machines did not live. If you plugged the cord thing in to a hole in the wall, it cooks things. But what? Perhaps she should try heating up the sponge.
He then seemed to have a goofy grin on his face when she claimed the bottle of dressing didn’t look edible. Apparently it was something you put on top of food to enhance the flavor. All of this food or rather cooking stuff was complicated. Why was all of this stuff needed just to have something for sustenance? Perhaps it was because of the taste. Some humans didn’t like some foods while others did. Brielle knew that she loved a thing called Candy and a drink called a milkshake. Gabrielle also knew that she hated meat. Mainly because it came from animals. Animals were too cute and cuddly to have for breakfast.
Alex had moved closer to her, leaving hardly any space between their bodies. It made it even harder for her to breathe. But it was a good kind of thing. She wanted him to be close. That was until he began to laugh at her. She frowned, lowering her head to stare at the floor. “I’m sorry. It’s hard for me. I don’t know anything about this stuff. I guess it’s safe to say I’m not going to be a cook. I’m trying to be human, but it’s… it’s just hard.” She stuttered, trying to push back the feeling that her eyes were going to leak again.
He looked at her in the eyes, asking what her heart was telling her about love. At first it didn’t make any sense to her. Hearts do not talk. Hearts just transport blood to all parts of the body properly. That was until she figured out he meant metaphorically. She bit her lip not wanting to look at him. “I guess.. it’s telling me lots of things. It makes my skin feel tingly. My cheeks hot. Other things that quite frankly are improper to say. But.. “ She stopped to finally look him straight in the eyes. “It is also telling me that I want to be wherever you are. Go wherever you go. It doesn’t want you to leave me because it would hurt. It gets mad if someone threatens to hurt you or take you away from me. It’s telling me that I cannot live without you. It’s telling me to do this.” She cut herself off to gently press her lips against his. Guess they won’t be eating sponge for breakfast after all.
